John Hayes is an internationally published poet. His poetry is eclectic and includes political satire, romance, anti-war, children's, sci-fi, horror and humor. He has directed and performed in numerous plays and appeared on Homicide as a scurvy looking corpse and as a shopper on WIRE.
Greenbelt Arts Center and Laurel Mill Playhouse produced his one-act play, The Pranksters. Other plays were produced in Alberta, Canada, Seattle, Washington, Silver Summer, Maryland and Buffalo, NY.
He has read poetry at the Takoma Park Poetry Series, The New Deal Cafe, WYPR and many coffee shops and bookstores. The MacGuffin, The Meadow, Flesh and Blood, Aoife's Kiss, Thema, BareBone, Modern Haiku, Writers Journal, Premonitions, Tales of the Talisman, Whitefish Review and Wily Writers are some of the magazines that have published his work.
