Chinese Hut

 

The Old Chinese Poet

People say I live in a poor man’s hut.
They laugh at my ragged sleeves.
They do not understand my tears of joy.
I am thankful for a bowl of rice
and this quiet time alone.
I believe that much unseen is also here.
