Sonja

Evening returns to the old garden.
Sonja's life, blue stillness.
Migrations of wild birds;
Bare tree in autumn and stillness.

Sunflower, softly bent
Over Sonja's white life.
Wound, red, never shown,
Comes alive in dark rooms

Where blue bells ring;
Sonja's step and gentle stillness.
A dying animal salutes in parting,
Bare tree in autumn and stillness.

Sun of ancient days shines
Over Sonja's white brow,
Snow moistens her cheeks
And the wilderness of her brow.
