The light-tight chamber (camera obscura)
The art of dying against the light is a simple one. All
one really needs is absence. You squint your eyes against
what seemed abundance and only a quivering remains.
You drop the mask, as it is, stand barefoot, take measures
against quantities you know. Factual, steady things, of
a familiar coldness. Properties you can rely on, even if
they never truly meet the requirements you set out for them.
In the end, they won't suffice, only this. A telltale knowing
of the way things work. In the end, what it comes down
to is mere trepidation. To hold your heart over nothingness
and prevail.
