  Liz Gallagher is Irish and lives in the Canary Islands, Spain. She is an English language Teacher in the Foreign Language Department of Las Palmas University and she is at present trying to complete a PhD, and poetry is her way of relaxing! Her work has been published in a recent anthology of writing from women in the North West of Ireland entitled EVE...a celebration of creative women. She has had work published or forthcoming in Speech Therapy, Mannequin Envy, The Pedestal Magazine, Centrifugal Eye, Wicked Alice, Lily, FRIGG and Noö.

He wears headphones in the Art gallery.
He turns off the camera flash.
Miró’s black umbrellas hang on a tapestry.

He remembers the red haired lady
with two small, fat dogs who he followed
in the morning. She pulled pizza from a bin
and licked her fingers. She wore fishnet stockings.

Five yellow sheets hang from a Gothic balcony.
Two blue canvas tents triangulate the sky.
