The Torture Question
when we buy gasoline, have coffee,
peel a banana, do we think of
torture as good and necessary
or it's too bad shackling a man,
woman or child to a metal bed frame,
a rough, blotched floor of cement
and whisper to them, see what you
make me do, look while you still
have eyes, this is your doing
it's not us
