Crazy Love: egg tanka series
morning is white shell
clasped between fingers and thumb;
egg strikes non-stick pan,
spills pale blood which quickly clots -
pleasure I cannot admit
espresso gurgles,
fluid steam whistles past ears -
from the leaden spout
a feather stretches to tease
prudent lobes and exposed nape
heat enslaves raw egg;
coffee grounds melt into cups -
some brand of evil
walks in at 7AM:
we kiss and let breakfast burn
